Day 3

Sorry, missed posting yesterday was a long day as was today.   Yesterday I walked a mile, though I did slip on the pop issue both yesterday and today, but kept up with walking.     I did a nature hike last night different terrain so really felt it in my legs, this is a great way to bump up the work out walks by going on a different terrain other than on sidewalks.    Today I did not do as much, but I did photograph one of my friends weddings so I had a lot of walking and up and down which is good exercise too.   It seems that as I go it gets harder to stick with it but I am determined to get healthier for my family, I want to be able to keep up with them and be around for them for a very long time.

It is nice to have the support of my husband and kids who all want to get out with me and do stuff, I think by myself taking this journey it is going to teach them a very important lesson on what they should be doing now and when they grow up to stay healthy and not have to worry about weight issues like I am. That is my hopes that they will not know the feeling of being looked at because you are overweight and feel like you are not as good as others.

I have decided I am going to set small weight loss goals to start and when I reach those goals I will reset my goal with a new goal and once I hit my final goal, I am going to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe, I so can not wait but know it will take time and commitment to get there and support of my family and friends.

Thank You all who are following me on my journey and I hope that as I go you will post your achievements and goals so we can do this together.

God Bless and I hope you all have a great Memorial Day Weekend

Day 1 to my road to a healthier lifestyle

Well today started out great.  I got up and did some housework and searched the internet.   Some of the things I have decided to do to go towards being healthier and lose this extra weight.

1- Limit the portions I eat

2-Cut down on pop, go from having pop all day to only 3 cans or 2 20 oz bottles.  Then Water the rest of the day.

3-More exercising and acitivitie

4- Taking a one a day vitamin that enhances metabolism and gives energy

5- Accessing websites to help motivate me and give ideas.

Two websites I am using to aide me

http://apps.facebook.com/thebiggestloserapp/?ref=ts

http://www.sparkpeople.com/

Both these sights encourage you to lose weight first one is on facebook and is the biggest loser move it to lose it challenge where you can create a team and challenge ea other.  You put in your starting weight and your goal weight and then log your workouts as you do them.  You have to do so many workouts to move up levels, I just started so I am at level 1.

The other one is more in depth you join for free, and you put in your info name, state, weight, goal.  With this one you log in what you have eaten and it will figure out calories and you also log in how much water you drink as this is one very important part of losing weight.,  You can join challenges as well as groups there are hundreds of different groups search your location where you live and I am sure you will find one for your area if not you can start one and encourage your friends and neighbors to join, who does not want to get healthier and with the support of those you know you can help each other out.  This site is great it really gives some ideas for workouts and recipes.

When starting a workout healthier lifestyle I want to recommend to see your physician see if he recommends not doing something or ideas to help. This is a very important part, but if you are like me with no insurance to do this I highly recommend not going full speed to start out slow and work yourself up.

For me I am gradually cutting out pop from my diet, and portioning my meals to smaller amounts,.  I am going to walk daily but start out walking a mile and work myself up to my goal of 5 miles.

Today 5/25/11
-Starting weight-170
-have had 2 pops and 2 waters and drinking water as we type.
-had subway for lunch and a salad and sandwich for dinner.
-Walked one lap around the Civic Center which is a mile
-Did 10 squats, 20 situps and 10 push-ups
-plus all the housework and picking kids up and walking in their school.

Another thing I am going to do is try to work in exercise even when I am out and about, I am researching this more and will write more about what I find and where next time.

I want to wish you all good luck you your road to a healthier lifestyle.  This is all for today will post more tomorrow on what I have accomplished and any tips that I find.

The road to today and getting heathy and fit

Hi everyone,

I dont know about you all, but my journey to where I am today has brought me excitement, joy, love and finally depression.   I am sure I am not the only one who is feeling the way I am.

My story:
I got married when I was 23 had my first child that same year. Before I had any kids I was 124 lbs.  But I struggled when I was in school I was always the bigger girl chubby and uncomfortable, after I graduated in 1995, I worked hard and lost weight and was down to a size 4.  I was so proud of myself,  I got married like I said when I was 23 and before this I had miscarried my first child and then 4 months later became pregnant again.  I was not concerned about my weight through this pregnancy as I knew I would lose the weight, I gained 60lbs but I did lose it all with my first pregnancy, in 2002 I became pregnant with my second child and again gained 50lbs and I said I would lose it, I did but not all, then in 2004 I was pregnant again, granted with this pregancy I did not gain as much 40 lbs but I ended up having a emergency c-section and afterwards everyone told me I would have a difficult time losing the weight, I did not believe them, but they were right.  Though I dont think it is all to do with the c-section as having 3 kids and a husband who works 2 jobs and is not home much.

I am now 33 years old and overweight, not horrible but enough to make me depressed over fighting to lose this weight.  I had a membership to a gym but lets just say with three kids aged 4-10 when I had it was hard, to find a time to get there at a regular times a week.   I have so much clothing that I love that I can not fit into and when I try something on that fit last year and it does not fit this year, that is telling me it is time for a change and I am going to do it, no matter what!

So I started this blog to get and provide support for others.  I will be posting what I am doing ea week and giving ideas on what we moms can do at home to get to the weight we want and to begin a healthier lifestyle for our families also, because what we do are kids will follow so why not start now and set that example for our children.  Also by posting a blog on this I will have others watching and I dont want to fail.

I will try my best to post daily with what I have done that day and any tips or suggestions I have.

I will post tomorrow with my starting weight and once a week or everyother week what my weight is.  Feel free to comment and add tips you know of and ideas for all.
